About Matt Elston

Thought leader in ethical business regulation, sustainability, and environmental action.

“The future of ethical business isn’t about more rules. It’s about better rules. Rules that make sense, that can be followed, and that genuinely protect both people and planet.”

— Matt Elston

The Mission

Matt’s career began at the intersection of complex financial models and legal structures, analyzing strategic investments and witnessing how institutional systems naturally calcify. He saw a recurring flaw across agriculture, climate technology, and local philanthropy: the individuals generating the most tangible, boots-on-the-ground value were consistently penalized by administrative complexity, while receiving the least credit.

His journey—from roots in early community service to advanced training in regenerative economics and soil advocacy—cemented a profound understanding of this friction. He felt a deep frustration watching bureaucratic inertia stifle genuine stewardship, recognizing that the problem wasn’t a lack of human goodwill, but a systemic failure to properly value it.

Background

Today Matt is a successful entrepreneur and the founder of the Social Impact Rewards (SIR) ecosystem — SIR, SIR Giving, SIR Farm, and Donor Money — a connected set of platforms that turn generosity and stewardship into a shared, appreciating currency.

Drawing on his academic foundation from Georgetown Finance and UCLA Law, his experience as a business law teaching assistant, and a fellowship in Climate Tech, he designs market incentives that work for real people.

He also serves as the Fundraising Chair for the Rotary Club of Summit County. His framework helped drive a 138% increase in online donations and a 106% increase in total donations, earning him the Unstoppable Force Award and recognition for an outstanding start to his Rotary journey, demonstrating remarkable leadership, organizational skills, and an immediate, enthusiastic commitment to service.
